Good Night's Stay with Great Food from kedvoidal on Tripadvsior
We had a one night stay here for my partners birthday. We paid £100 for dinner,b&b. Which turned out to be a bargain. The hotel is a good 3star and with a bit of effort could become a good 4 star.

Everything about the Manor House hotel was pleasing from the warm reception, to the excellent food. We chose one of the smaller rooms, but the public spaces were so welcoming and comfortable, that we would not have spent much time in it anyway. Although run as an efficient modern hotel, the feel of the old manor house remains.

The hotel was of high standard throughout, and although we are more used to staying in modern style accommodation, we found the hotel had far more character and appeal. We stayed in room 11 'Catherine of Aragon' and we really appreciated the 12th Century style room, which was in keeping with the charms of the hotel. The room and bathroom were both large and spacious, and bed extremely comfortable (which is a real compliment from my ready to go into labour wife).

Had an overnight stay here with my wife while on a business trip to Durham. Interesting old manor house and a bit different to stay in. Major plus are the staff who are extremely cheery and helpful and can't do enough to help. Excellent room, drinks not a ridiculous price and great choice of food in the restaurant. Enjoyed a dip in the pool and a sauna and, if you really feel like exercise they have a great gym. Would visit again and will put it on our recommended stopover places.

Dear Ms Thomas, After yet another very successful Family re-union at the Manor House Hotel I wanted to thank you and all of your staff for the excellent weekend. As you know we had a re-union 2 years ago with yourselves and each time it gets better – not just my thoughts but also those of many of my family who have written to thank me.
Your organisation and consideration to all the individual requests for personal needs from the very young to the very old made it so easy for me to organise and it took away a lot of my problems. Our freedom of the hotel, having taken over all the bedrooms made it seem as though I was Lord of my Manor and my family and relatives, 70 of us, were just in my home! Compliments to the chef again, the food was great and served just at the right time to fit in with our planned evening.
The 60’s Group were excellent as they catered for the full age range and were even better than a disco. The children enjoyed the swimming pool and I was surprised that so many of the adults ventured into the Gym. It is our intention to have our 3rd Re-union with you in 2 years time, if you will have us, and we look forward to it, although I am sure quite a number of the family, myself included will be back again shortly to enjoy all the amenities of the hotel
